Political “science” is a misnomer. It suggests that the essential knowledge in politics is theoretical and factual. Mastery of the facts is necessary in politics. But it is not sufficient. Public policy success requires deliberation and discernment – practical wisdom – that only comes with hard work, deep experience, and routine participation in consequential decision-making.
